Data policy
Last updated: 7 August 2026
The privacy policy explains the principle. This page is the inventory: every single thing Retro Blocks writes down, where it goes, and how to get rid of it.
Nothing on this page leaves your iPhone. There is no account system, no cloud sync and no server. Every item below is stored in the app's own preferences on your device.
What is stored
| Item | What it is | Why | Kept until |
|---|---|---|---|
| Player name | The text you type on the start screen, trimmed to 12 characters and shown in capitals | To label your high scores | You change it, or delete the app |
| Sound | On or off | To remember your choice between sessions | You change it, or delete the app |
| Vibration | On or off | To remember your choice between sessions | You change it, or delete the app |
| Rows per level | A number between 1 and 20 | Difficulty pacing you set yourself | You change it, or delete the app |
| Game Center opt-in | Whether you chose to link Game Center | So the app does not ask again every launch | You unlink, or delete the app |
| High scores | Up to 10 entries: name, score, level, lines cleared, date played | The local high-score table | Pushed out by better scores, or delete the app |
Where it lives
In the app's own preference storage inside its iOS container. That container is sandboxed by iOS: no other app can read it. If you have iCloud or iTunes backups switched on for your device, that container may be included in your own backup — that is Apple's backup of your device, not a transfer to us.
What is never stored
- No email address, phone number, Apple Account or any other identifier.
- No advertising identifier (IDFA) and no device fingerprint.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data.
- No record of when or how long you play, and no crash or usage reports.
Who it is shared with
Nobody. There are no third parties involved: no analytics provider, no advertising network, no crash reporter, no cloud database. The app has no code that sends data anywhere.
Game Center, if you link it
Optional and off by default. When linked, Apple handles the sign-in and the app receives only your Game Center display name, which it shows on the start screen and does not store or transmit. No scores are submitted to any leaderboard at present. If that changes, this page will say so before it ships.
How to delete everything
- Just the scores: clear the high-score table from within the app.
- All of it: delete the app from your iPhone. iOS removes the whole container, including the name, the settings and the scores.
- The Game Center link: unlink on the start screen. Signing out of Game Center itself is done in the iOS Settings app.
